Changing Gears Journeys is celebrating its 11th season of taking small groups on unique, exciting, and memorable tours through Italy, Austria, British Columbia, and Washington State.

Many of our most popular tours have been described by past participants as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. These include a 10 day Toscana villa experience in a quintessential Italian small village, cooking and wine tours in Umbria and Tuscany, a women’s Tuscan villa escape (yes, we have a couple of tours for women only), a mystical journey while walking in the footsteps of the ancient Etruscans in Tuscany, a breath-taking bicycle ride along the beautiful Danube River that passes through quaint European villages, and a Ride on the Wild Side bicycle tour on Vancouver Island.

Changing Gears is owned and operated by long-time friends, Suzanne McNeilly and Jeni Cate - two women with a zest for life and the ability to find adventure wherever they go. Suzanne is a graduate of Seattle Central Culinary Arts School and received extensive instruction on Italian cuisine while working with Chef Franco Lazzaritti of Rome. Suzanne teaches all of our hands-on cooking classes, some in a villa overlooking the Mediterranean. Our bicycle tour guides have extensive U.S. and European touring experience, focusing on fun and safety at a relaxed pace. This way you will have energy left for shopping, sightseeing and relaxing at the end of the day’s ride.

Our groups are small so that we can offer individual attention to each of our customers. You are welcomed as a party of friends traveling together, and you will be able to participate in local activities typically inaccessible to large tour groups.

This year, we have expanded our business to include customized group tours. Bring us your ideas for a tour and we will use our accumulated knowledge and contacts to make it happen. So, if you have a group of friends, family, or employees (makes a great team building event or year-end reward for a job well done), give us a call. Please allow a year for planning and scheduling custom tours. However, we can also customize any of the tours that are described on our website.
